Jean-Pierre Barda is a Swedish singer, actor, and former member of the dance-pop group Army of Lovers. He was born on March 7, 1967, in Paris, France, and grew up in Sweden. Barda started his career as a model in the late 1980s before joining Army of Lovers in 1990. He was known for his androgynous appearance and dramatic fashion sense, which helped to establish the group's image.
After Army of Lovers disbanded in 1996, Barda pursued a solo career as a singer and actor. He released his first solo album, "Refuzion," in 2002, which featured a mix of pop, rock, and electronic music. Barda has also appeared in several films and TV shows, including the Swedish comedy "Kopps" and the reality TV series "Big Brother VIP" in Spain.
Barda has been open about his sexuality and has become a prominent advocate for LGBTQ+ rights in Sweden. He has been honored for his activism and philanthropy, receiving the Culture Award from the Swedish LGBT Federation in 2012 and the Diamond Award from the Swedish Cancer Society in 2017 for his work supporting cancer research.
